New York Jets and New York Football Giants Appoint Veteran Meadowlands Executive Ron VanDeVeen as President and CEO of MetLife Stadium

East Rutherford, N.J. – April 5, 2016 Ron VanDeVeen, SVP, Events and Guest Experiences of MetLife Stadium, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the number one stadium in the world, as announced today by the owners of the New York Giants and New York Jets.

A 26-year veteran in the industry, VanDeVeen will assume the role formerly held by Brad Mayne.  The appointment was effective as of April 1.  Mayne will stay as a consultant working with VanDeVeen as he transitions into the leadership role.

VanDeVeen has spent the last two decades championing for and bringing the world’s largest events to the New Jersey/New York area.  MetLife Stadium has hosted the world’s biggest events:  Super Bowl XLVIII, WrestleMania 29, CONCACAF Gold Cup, and International superstars U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney, AC/DC and Taylor Swift, amongst others.  This June, MetLife Stadium will host two matches plus the Final of the Copa America Centenario; the biggest soccer event to be held in the United States since the 1994 World Cup. 

MetLife Stadium has been named the number one stadium in the world for non-NFL events in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 by Billboard Magazine; Number one in the U.S. in 2011. MetLife Stadium has also hosted the Top Worldwide Tours of 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015: Bon Jovi, U2, Bon Jovi, One Direction and Taylor Swift, respectively and was named Top Stop of the Decade by Venues Today.
