The family-friendly atmosphere will showcase the best in food, music and entertainment from across the New York / New Jersey Metropolitan Area
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – August 30, 2016 - MetLife Stadium will play host to the 2016 Rock The BBQ Festival, an event that brings together barbecue, beer, wine, spirits and music enthusiasts from all across the New York / New Jersey metropolitan region, on Saturday, Oct. 8. As temperatures cool down, things will be heating up at the stadium when guests of all ages experience a different kind of tailgate.
The all-day festival, taking place on the Stadium plaza, clubs, and on the field, features award-winning BBQ pit masters, and artisan food vendors dishing up everything from slow cooked ribs to pulled pork, roasted and grilled chicken, brisket and much more. Its unique beer offerings, excellent wines and on-site crafted cocktails will take tailgating to a new level. In addition, gourmet desserts will be crafted by some of the region’s premier chefs.
A memorable BBQ is not complete without great music. The musical lineup features Jeremy Beck & The Heavy Duty Horns and New Jersey natives The Matt Wade Band and The Matt O’Ree Band. Matt O’Ree joined Bon Jovi on their 2015 South Asia tour backing the band on guitar and vocals. For a more interactive experience, get ready to try your hand at country line dancing.
Local craftsman will have their wares on display for purchase, and there will be a variety of activities for adults and kids, such as bounce house city (including the New York Jets Kid Zone inflatables), giant Jenga and Connect Four, corn hole, face painting, and a Pyrotechnics Musical Finale to keep the crowd entertained all day long.
Tito's Vodka, an official partner of Rock The BBQ, will also be activating on-site with their 36 ft RV named Woody.
Additionally, Rock The BBQ is partnering with the ASPCA for a “Pumpkins for Puppies” initiative: 1,000 pumpkins will be available to decorate and take home on a donation-basis, with proceeds going to a local animal shelter, organized through the ASPCA. A Puppy adoption station will be set-up, and those visiting the “Pumpkins for Puppies” zone will be able to interact with the puppies/dogs up for adoption as well.
Tickets, which start at $20, are available for purchase online at www.rockthebbq.com and at the MetLife Stadium Box Office (Monday - Friday, 11am – 5pm). VIP tickets, which include on-field access, field level photo opportunities, stadium tour, access to the Coaches Club (field-level Club) and a limited edition Rock The BBQ hat, are available for $50. VIP Platinum tickets, which include all the benefits of the VIP tickets, also include a five hour open bar and a $10 food voucher, for $125.
Discounted rates are available for larger groups (10+) and kids 10 and under are always free. The first 5,000 guests receive a limited edition Rock The BBQ hat. Parking is free for this event.
